I aim to provide a comprehensive obstetric service. I believe that for the majority of women a vaginal delivery will be the safest and preferred mode of delivery. One size does not fit all however and all pregnancies are planned case by case.
Pregnancy is usually a joyous time for expectant mothers and their families and both myself and the clinic staff hope to make your pregnancy as smooth and stress free as possible. We are aware however that sometimes life is not so straightforward and aim to provide the extra support and care sometimes needed.
Occasionally babies will need delivery earlier than expected. SJOG hospital accepts deliveries from 32 weeks onwards. Prior to this time I will care for and deliver booked women at KEMH.
I am generally happy to perform ECV (external cephalic version), vaginal twin delivery and VBAC (vaginal birth after Caesarean).
Once your baby is delivered I aim to continue your care and provide a comprehensive postnatal service including screening for postnatal depression, discussion of contraception and ensuring that Pap Smears, Rubella immunisation and any other outstanding issues are covered prior to your return to your usual general practitioner.
If you have any particular health issues or past history and would like pre-conception counselling I would encourage you to make an appointment for this.
